Jean M. Mayhew

Jean M. Mayhew, 80, formerly of 109 Housatonic St., Lenox, died Monday at Hillcrest Commons after a long illness.

Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 3, 1927, daughter of Walter E. and Cora Perry Beebe, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and studied music at Green Mountain Junior College in Poultney, Vt.

Mrs. Mayhew worked in a dental office for many years. She also taught piano and organ at her home.

She was a church organist for Trinity United Methodist, Morningside Baptist, Christian Science and other area churches.

She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield.

Her first husband, Robert Meisenheimer, died June 3, 1955.

Her husband, Earl Mayhew, whom she married Nov. 4, 1967, died in June 2002.

She leaves a son, Lee Meisenheimer of Pittsfield, and eight grandchildren.

Her daughter, Lynne R. Face, died in December 1988.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jean Mayhew, who died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Lenox by the Rev. Valerie Roberts-Toler. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church of Lenox or to Juvenile Diabetes, both in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She also leaves a son-in-law, David Face.
