Elva H. Lloyd

Elva H. Lloyd, 87, formerly of 386 Elm St., died Monday at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge after a long illness.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 14, 1920, daughter of Arthur and Mary Jane Daniels Hosley, she graduated from Drury High School in 1938. She moved to Pittsfield in 1953.

Mrs. Lloyd was employed by the former Union Federal Savings Bank as a branch manager, retiring in 1983. Before that, she was a sales clerk and buyer for the former England Brothers department store for many years.

She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church.

After her retirement, she volunteered at the Berkshire Museum and for Habitat for Humanity.

Her husband, Ralph W. Lloyd Jr., whom she married Feb. 20, 1944, died Feb. 24, 1993,

She leaves two children, Ralph W. Lloyd III of Northbridge and Susan Lang of Maple Grove, Minn.; a brother, Roscoe Hosley of Wakefield, R.I.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Elva H. Lloyd, who died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, by the Rev.James Walton.. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, North Adams.

Friends and family are invited to visit with Elva's family on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield. Mrs. Lloyd cared for her husband with love and devotion throughout his long illness. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
