Eva Mae Zahn Drake

Eva Mae Zahn Drake, 88, of 120 Kearney Ave., died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Beverly A. Zahn-Black of 28623 Wahoo Drive, Bonita Springs, Fla., where she had resided for three weeks.
Born in Adams on June 4, 1919, daughter of Thomas and Violet Maynard Trombley, she was educated in local schools.
Mrs. Drake was a homemaker. She was employed by the former Young's Rest Home on South Street for eight years.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and volunteered at the Pittsfield Senior Center for 20 years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, dancing and traveling.
Her first husband, Francis J. Zahn, whom she married Sept. 23, 1939, died Aug. 29, 1982.
Her husband, Carl S. Drake, whom she married April 25, 1987, died Jan. 15, 1996.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Jeffrey T. Zahn of Pownal, Vt.; six other daughters, Judith M. Klein of Germantown, N.Y., and Naples, Fla., Carol J. Caird of Lanesborough, Nany M. Mitchell of Newell, S.D., Linda F. Clement of Copake, N.Y., Denise K. Kennedy, with whom she resided in Pittsfield, and Donna M. Zahn of Pittsfield; three brothers, Leo L. Trombley of Hinsdale, George T. Trombley of Washington and Ronald Trombley of Austerlitz, N.Y.; three sisters, Joan Southard of the town of Washington, Ruth Ann Rheaume of Manhattan, Kan., and Pearl Castori of Ipswich; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandaughter.
A son, Jacob T. Zahn, died Nov. 21.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Eva M. Zahn Drake, who died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Drake may be made to the Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
Mrs. Drake also was predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Bernard Trombley, and by a sister, Bertha Feetham.
