Warren Weston Geddes, 79, of Beech Drive, Hannawa Falls, N.Y., formerly of Pittsfield, died Wednesday at home.
Born in Cambridge on Nov. 17, 1928, son of Paul and Gladys Dowsing Geddes, he was a graduate of Worcester Boys' Trade School.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served as a sergeant from 1951 to 1952.
Mr. Geddes was employed by IBM as a customer engineer for 34 years prior to his retirement.
He was a former member of the Civil Defense Auxiliary Police and a volunteer member of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriff's Association. He also was active in the Berkshire Visitors Bureau, the Senior Center and First United Methodist Church.
He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Hull, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary Sept. 26. They were married in Worcester and moved recently to Hannawa Falls to be closer to family.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Donna-Jean Bridgman and Janet Geddes, both of Hannawa Falls; a son, Brian Geddes of Rocky Hill, Conn.; a sister, Carol Chaffee of West Boylston; a brother, Robert Geddes of Auburn; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Memorial services for Warren Weston Geddes, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Luis Benevides. Cremation arrangements are with SEYMOUR FUNERAL HOME in Potsdam, N.Y.
His cremains will be placed in the columbarium at First United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Geddes' memory to local area hospices or to First United Methodist Church. Mr. Geddes also leaves a son-in-law, Dr. Philip Bridgman; a daughter-in-law, Andri (Brian) Smith; a sister-in-law, Beverly Geddes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Kenelly.
