Marie T. Hanley

Marie T. Hanley, 80, of 83A Highview Drive, formerly of 183 Emerald St., Malden, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Saugus on March 15, 1927, daughter of Charles and Bernadette Farnsworth Dineen, she graduated from schools in Boston.

She moved to Pittsfield in 1991 after the death of her husband, Edward F. Hanley.

Mrs. Hanley was employed by New England Telephone Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1988.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a former longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Malden.

She enjoyed sports and playing cards.

She and her husband were married Sept. 2, 1950. He died Jan. 11, 1989.

She leaves a daughter, Kathleen Puzas of Norfolk; two sons, Francis J. Hanley of Pittsfield and Michael E. Hanley of Northborough; two brothers, Charles D. Dineen of San Diego and Joseph T. Dineen of Canton and Fort Myers, Fla.; and two sisters, Bernadette M. Santoro of Kingston and Carol V. Varnum of Milton; and eight grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Marie T. Hanley, who died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Parish in Brookline.

Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral at Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Friends of Renal Dialysis, in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Mrs. Hanley also leaves a son-in-law, John Puzas; two daughters-in-law, Jeanne (Michael) and Judy (Francis); two sisters-in-law, Isabel (Charles) and Genie (Joseph); two brothers-in-law, Eugene Santoro and Kenneth Varnum; and eight grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed spending time, Maegan and Colleen Puzas, Brian, Elizabeth and Patrick Hanley, and Matthew, Ryann and Scott Hanley.
