Peter P. Spasyk, 95, of 22 Club Circle died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
He had lived with his niece Paula Rivers since 1993.
Born in Pittsfield on July 15, 1912, son of George and Polly Weczerkowska Spasyk, he attended local schools.
Mr. Spasyk was employed by General Electric Co. as a planner in the power transformer department. He retired in 1972 with 35 years of service.
He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of the Berkshire Hills and Skyline country clubs.
In 1985, at the age of 73, he shot a 73 at Berkshire Hills. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs.
He and his wife, the former Anna Dynko, were married July 26, 1941, in Cohoes, N.Y.
Besides his wife and niece, he leaves a brother, George Spasyk of Indianapolis, and a sister, Nellie Caccamo of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Peter P. Spasyk died in Pittsfield on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at DWYER FUNERAL HOME by Monsignor Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 26, at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Mr. Spasyk was predeceased by four brothers, William, Steven, Michael and John, and by two sisters, Mari Theilig and Anne Spasyk.
He also leaves many nieces and nephews, including Dick Rivers, with whom he resided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Frazier Memorial Golf Tournament.
