Stacy Lynn Green-Mensah, 36, of Dower Square, 253 Wahconah St., died of cancer Friday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on May 13, 1971, daughter of Linda Warner Green and the late Eugene R. Emmons, she was raised by her adoptive father, Elmer F. Green. She attended local schools and earned her General Educational Development certificate from the Adult Learning Center six years ago.
Ms. Green-Mensah was employed by Adams & Adams Cleaning Service in Adams as a housekeeper for 15 years, retiring last year because of poor health. Before that, she worked at the McKay Street Parking Garage as a toll taker for several years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and enjoyed cooking, and Christmas and penny socials.
Besides her parents, of Pittsfield, she leaves six sons, Michael Utter of Adams, and Todd LeClair, Akeem LeClair, Alex LeClair and Tarrenz LeClair, and Devon Jones, all of Pittsfield; a daughter,Santana Utter of Adams; a brother, Paul LeClair of Shirley; four sisters, Tawnya Underhill of Dalton and Billi-Jo Zimmerman, Margaret Carmon and Jennifer Green, all of Pittsfield; three stepsisters, Lisa Stanley of Portland, Maine, and Rosetta Sherman and Tammy Blake, both of North Adams; her maternal grandmother, Doris Love Warner of Pittsfield; and her fiancé, Harold F. Richards Jr., with whom she resided.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Stacy Lynn Green-Mensah, who died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Willard H. Durant.
Calling hours from 11 to 1 p.m. will precede the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the Christian Center, all in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Paul R. Warner Jr.; by two uncles, Theodore J. Warner and Alan Summers; and by two cousins, Robin M. Dewey and Leonard J. Fields III.
