Mary A. Ginipero

Mary A. Ginipero, 93, formerly of Rose Manor, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Beverly Curtin, 19 Lee Road, South Deerfield, where she had resided.

Born in Pittsfield on May 21, 1914, daughter of Felix and Josephine Capucchio Brero, she attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School and Berkshire Business College.

Mrs. Ginipero was employed by General Electric Co. in the power transformer department for 37 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, the Senior Citizens and the Senior Golden clubs of Pittsfield.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking and sewing.

Her husband, Armand Ginipero, died June 23, 1940

Besides her daughter, she leaves two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary A. Ginipero, who died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Mrs. Ginipero also leaves two grandchildren, Kurt Harris of Deerfield and Donna Knoop of Charlotte, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Katie and Jakob Knoop and Samuel Harris. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Greenfield, MA 01301.
