Pittsfield - Kathryn V. Buckley, 89, of 379 East St., died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Schenectady, N.Y. on April 28, 1918, daughter of Loren Hebler Sr. and Flossie Mae Beekman Hebler, she was a resident of Lanesborough for 60 years and a resident of Pittsfield since 1995. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and the former St. Luke's Hospital Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
Mrs. Buckley was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the former St. Luke's Hospital and Berkshire Medical Center for 15 years, retiring in 1972. Before that, she worked at Miss Hall's School as a waitress.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the 4-H organization, and Lanesborough Grange 21. She also taught Sunday school at Lanesborough Federated Church.
She was the widow of George W. Buckley Sr., who died in 1992. They were married Jan. 1, 1939, in Lebanon Springs, N.Y.
Mrs. Buckley leaves three sons, George W. Buckley Jr. of Lanesborough, James K. Buckley of Antwerp, N.Y., and Christopher J. Martin of Berkshire Village; three daughters, Dr. Gail Patricia Buckley of Jonesville, N.Y., Sue Ellen Cunningham of San Jose, Calif., and Kathryn L. Buckley of Lanesborough; two brothers, Loren Hebler Jr. of Buffalo N.Y. and Dwight Hebler of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Evelyn Knight and Beverly Lambert, both of Pittsfield; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Philip Buckley, died in 2003.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Kathryn V. Buckley, who died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or First United Methodist Church in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, in her memory. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
