PITTSFIELD - Thomas P. Drury, 71, of 5063 W. 149th and 8th St., Brook Park, Ohio, a native of Pittsfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at home.
Born on May 6, 1936, son of James and Anna Mullen Drury, he attended local schools and received his associate degree from Albany (N.Y.) Business College.
Mr. Drury was employed by General Electric Co. as a computer specialist in the payroll department. After being transferred to Cleveland, he was manager of the company's financial systems. He retired in the late 1990s.
During the 1960s, he was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals under former Mayor Remo Del Gallo. In Brook Park, he was a captain in the Auxiliary Police Department.
He and his wife, the former Carole Wescott, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June with a Mass at St. Mary's Church, where they were married.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Melinda Drury of Charlotte, N.C., and Peter and Therese Drury of Cleveland; two daughters, Jennifer Babal and Sandra Hill, both of Cleveland; a brother and sister-in-law, John J. and Thelma Drury of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, Jason, Leah, Anthony, Erin, Brenna, Caitlin, Catherine, Michelle and Allison; and a great-grandson, Alex.
He was predeceased by another brother, James Drury.
FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Thomas P. Drury, 71, was celebrated Jan. 19, 2008, at Assumption of Mary Church in Brook Park, Ohio. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In attendance at the funeral were many members of the Brook Park and Cleveland police departments, who escorted the funeral cortege from the church to the cemetery and served as honor and color guards.
