PITTSFIELD - Paulette Smith, 89, of 89 South St., Berkshire Place, died there Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. She had resided there for four years.
Born in Atlanta on May 11, 1918, daughter of Hugh J. and Lela Miller Edison, she was a 1936 graduate of Girls' High School there and a 1939 graduate of Atlanta Business College. She moved to this area four years ago.
For many years, Mrs. Smith was assistant director of food services for South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta, a counselor and teacher for the American Diabetic Association.
She was an active member of St. Timothy's Methodist Church in Stone Mountain, Ga., and a registered member of the American Cardiology Technologists Association.
Her husband, Norman W. Smith, whom she married March 23, 1940, died July 6, 1973.
She leaves a daughter, Gail Smith Street of Lenox; two grandchildren, Trudy Street Karlson of Westborough, Mass., and Holly Paulette Kubli of New Lebanon, N.Y.; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Edison Kubli and Dakota Trong Kubli.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Services and burial for Paulette Edison Smith will be in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire Place, to be used for staff enrichment, or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
