Pittsfield - Harold L. Snow, 95, formerly of 10 Pine St., Lanesborough, died Monday at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where he had resided for the past year.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 19, 1912, son of Harry and Florence VanAlstine Snow, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Snow was a machinist at GE Ordnance Manufacturing for 37 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a 50-year member of AF&AM Mystic Lodge of Masons and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pittsfield. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. The GEAA named a bowling league in Mr. Snow's honor.
Mr. Snow married the former Edna Dakin on March 30, 1936. She died Nov. 29, 1985.
Mr. Snow leaves a son, Paul Snow of Lanesborough; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Harold L. Snow, who died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Rennie officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Lanesborough.
Calling hours will be today 4 to 7 p.m. at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. There will be a Masonic Service at 6 p.m., conducted by the Mystic Lodge of Masons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Lion's Eye Research or the Masonic Association, in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Snow also leaves a daughter-in-law, Ann Snow; a grandson, Paul B. Snow; and two granddaughters, Michele Snow and Darcy Snow. A sister, Lillian Radke, predeceased him.
