Isabelle Carmen Winnard, 86

Pittsfield - Isabelle Carmen Winnard, 86, of 1025 Peck's Road, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Geralyn M. Jones at 1311 Churchill St., Lanesborough.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 7, 1921, daughter of Michele A. and Rose Maria Chichetto Barile, she was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School, a graduate of the former Berkshire Business College, and a 1945 graduate of the former Marcelle's Beauty School.

A beautician for more than 20 years, Mrs. Winnard had been employed by Fran's, England Brothers, Mary Collias, and Jean Marie's salons, all formerly of Pittsfield, and had taught at the LeBaron School of Cosmetology. She retired in 1976.

Mrs. Winnard was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a volunteer for Right to Life.

She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, gardening and reading.

She married her husband, Paul T. Winnard Sr., on May 9, 1949, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Besides her husband and her daughter, she leaves two sons, Paul T. Winnard Jr., Ph.D., of Glen Burnie, Md., and Dr. Robert G. Winnard of Millersville, Md.; and five grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Isabelle Carmen Winnard, who died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, will be tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Winnard may be made to the Friends of Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter or to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Berkshire County, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.

Mrs. Winnard also leaves her son-in-law, Raymond; daughter-in-law, Tracey; and grandchildren, Keith and David Jones, and Margaux, Juliette and Robbie Winnard.
