PITTSFIELD - Gloria C. St. John, 83, of Highview Drive, died Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2008, at Providence Care Center of Lenox.
Born in Pittsfield, May 31, 1924, daughter of Andrew and May Bain Cook, she attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1942 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. St. John lived and worked in Schenectady, N.Y. for thirty years, and was an administrative assistant for the New York State Dept. of Human Resources pension department. She had resided in Pittsfield for the past ten years.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Pittsfield.
An avid golfer, she had won several golf tournaments in the Schenectady area over the years. She also enjoyed playing Keeno.
Mrs. St. John leaves a brother, Allan V. Cook of Pittsfield; a sister, Dorothy Kain of Utica, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral of Gloria C. St. John will be Friday morning at 11 a.m. at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor of St. Ann's Church in Lenox, officiating.
Burial will be in the spring in North Becket Cemetery. A calling hour will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers donations in Gloria's memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
