PITTSFIELD - Mary M. Kelly, 91, formerly of 45 Delaware Ave., died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Berkshire Place, 89 South St., where she resided since December 2003.
Born in Pittsfield, daughter of Thomas E. and Katherine A. Buntin Kelly, she was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph's High School and a 1938 graduate of Trinity College in Washington, D.C. She also graduated from the former Pittsfield Secretarial School.
In her early years, Miss Kelly was employed by the Pittsfield Credit Union, later working at GE Plastics as a personal secretary for Robert Gibson, a vice president. She then went to work for GE Ordnance in the patent department for attorney James Young. She retired in 1982 after more than 41 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church, and a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and pensioners. She was an avid flower gardener and a very generous and caring person to her family and many friends.
She leaves a brother, James W. Kelly of Pittsfield; 12 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and -nephews and three great-great-nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas F. Kelly and John J. Kelly.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Services for Mary M. Kelly will be Thursday, March 6, at 9 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Charles' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Lenox. Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles' Church Memorial fund care of the funeral.
