Lynda G. Hall, 65

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Lynda G. Hall, 65, of Williamsburg, formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton after a long struggle with ovarian cancer.



Born in Pittsfield on March 10, 1944, daughter of Frederick W. and Lila Cessford Gall, she attended Pittsfield High School.



A homemaker, Mrs. Hall was a longtime volunteer at Meekins Library in Williamsburg. As a young woman, she had worked in the classified department at The Berkshire Eagle.



She was widely known as an excellent baker and an avid rug hooker. Affectionately known as "Mimi," she loved playing Old Maid with her grandchildren.



She and her husband, Edward M. Hall, were married Sept. 7, 1963, in St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield.



Besides her husband of 46 years, she leaves three daughters, North Adams City Councilor Lisa M. Blackmer and her husband, William, of North Adams, Suzanne E. Howell and her husband, David, of Williamsburg and Erica L. Hall of Wivenhoe, England; a sister, Margo Valone of Williamsburg, and grandchildren Allyson, Martin, Emily and Mia Howell, and William and Jennifer Blackmer.



She was predeceased by an infant daughter and infant son and by her stepmother, Janet W. Gall.



FUNERAL NOTICE — There will be no calling hours for Mrs. Hall and burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson Hospital, PO Box 329, Northampton, MA 01061, or a charity of one's choice.
