PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Ruth Virginia Harris, 92, of 65 Dalton Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Born in Pittsfield on July 18, 1918, daughter of Henry and Marion Felix Roy, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Harris was last employed by the Visiting Nurse Association of North Berkshire. Before that, she worked at North Adams Regional Hospital and also at the former Sprague Electric Co.
She enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping.
Her husband, Francis M. Harris, died on Nov. 28, 1966.
She leaves three sons, Francis M. Harris Jr. and John P. Harris, both of Pittsfield, and Wayne R. Harris of North Adams; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Her brothers Charles Roy and Normand Roy predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Harris will be Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9 until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
