Patrick J. Sullivan Jr., 82

PITTSIELD, Mass. — Patrick J. Sullivan Jr., 82, of 69 Wood Ave. died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.

Born on July 12, 1932, son of Patrick and Julia Tworig Sullivan, he graduated in 1951 from the former Adams High School, serving as class president his final three years. He also attended Ithaca (N.Y.) College for two years. He returned to Adams before residing in Daytona Beach, Fla., for 36 years.

Mr. Sullivan was employed for many years in sales by Hobner Guitar Co., transferring to Daytona Beach. He also had worked at the former Sprague Electric, designing capacitors for 14 years. He was a local musician, playing trumpet and keyboard for many years. In Florida, he did many regular musical entertaining jobs throughout his life, until retiring at age 72.

His first wife, the former Josephine Zepka, whom he married June 25, 1955, died June 9, 2007, after 52 years of marriage.

He returned to the Berkshires and resided at the Spruces Mobile Home Park where he met his wife, Sandy LoPresto. They were married on Sept. 17, 2011.

Besides his loving wife, and his sister-in-law and caregiver, Suzette Pierce and her husband, Bruce, he leaves his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Walter Sears, Wayne and Peg LoPresto, Patricia Little, Richard Luczynski and his wife, Beverly, and Betty Luczynski; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and wonderful friends including his two feline "children," Maxie and Sasha.

He will greatly missed by all. Mr. Sullivan's last request was that he be remembered as saying: "It's been a wonderful and glorious ride."

FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mr. Sullivan will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. The omission of flowers is requested. Per his request there will be no calling hours or funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice of the donor's or to the March of Dimes in care of the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.

The family would like to thank Sweet Brook Care Center for their excellent care of Mr. Sullivan.
