For 45 years, Christo's Famous Pizza has been serving up delicious gourmet pizza and Greek cuisine to Berkshire County. Its newest location, located on Holden St. in North Adams, is run by Mary Giannaris.

Don't let the restaurant's name fool you: There's more to the menu than just pizza. You'll find a range of Greek specialties, from the popular spinach pie to souvlaki, gyros and baklava.
You'll also find a selection of Italian and American-influenced food on the menu; there are a variety of grinders (or subs, heroes or hoagies, depending on where you're from), both cold and hot, wraps, and pasta dishes including spaghetti and meatballs and veal parmesan. A variety of salads, available in three sizes, can complement a meal or be a meal all by themselves. Want something to warm your bones? Try the homemade Greek soup, augolemono (chicken soup with a splash of lemon juice).
And of course, there's the pizza. Choose from a simple white pizza with olive oil, garlic sauce, mozzarella cheese, herbs and spices (toppings also available), or be adventurous and try the Chicken Fajita, which is topped with grilled chicken, onions, peppers and salsa sauce. There are several vegetarian pizzas – Athena's Gourmet Special boasts feta cheese, kalamata olives, garlic and fresh tomatoes – as well as heartier meat pies (the Meat Lovers includes sausage, meatball, ham, pepperoni and bacon).
Christo's is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Takeout and delivery are available. The restaurant serves beer and wine.
