Repair work on Dawes Ave Bridge In Pittsfield, Street Improvement Schedule

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Repairs will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 1 to replace a leaking water gate on the west side of the Dawes Avenue bridge.
 
In order to isolate the leak, crews will have to shut six gates on Howard Street, one on Appleton Avenue, one on Deming Street, and one on the east side of the bridge.
 
Beginning at 8 a.m., water service will be unavailable on Dwight Street. Service is expected to be impacted for much of the day. 
 
There may also be the presence of discolored water in the surrounding vicinity during this time.
 
Any additional updates will be shared as necessary.
 
Also, the following work is scheduled for Nov. 1-5, as part of the City of Pittsfield’s 2021 Street Improvement Project.
 
The schedule is as follows:
  • Monday, Nov. 1: Raising structures on Yarmouth Street and Anita Drive; berm on Lucille Street and Paul Avenue; also on Paul, patch pipe crossing.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 2: Raising structures on Yarmouth Street and Anita Drive; pave Cliff and Curtain avenues, and Maloney Street.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 3: Raising structures on Yarmouth Street and Anita Drive; pave Lucille and Hawk streets, and Paul Avenue.
  • Thursday, Nov. 4: Pave Yarmouth Street and Anita Drive (weather permitting).
  • Friday, Nov. 5: Rain date to accommodate scheduled work potentially impacted by Thursday’s expected inclement weather.
On-street parking is prohibited during this work between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.
 
The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
