Women's Run, Community 5K Returns on Mother's Day

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Berkshire Running Center and MountainOne are sponsoring the 45th running of the Women’s Running Race and Community 5K on Sunday at BCC.
 
Historically held on Mother’s Day, this event makes the claim of being the longest held all female running event in the country. The event will be returning in person after a long hiatus with three races, all of which will raise funds for the Elizabeth Freeman Center.
 
“MountainOne is pleased to support the amazing work of both the Berkshire Running Center and the Elizabeth Freeman Center, not to mention honoring all of the wonderful women in our community,” MountainOne Vice President of Community Engagement Kelli Kozak said. “Focusing on community health, wellness, and safety for all is an important part of the core values that drive our commitment to community.”
 
The event will include a free half mile kids run at 8 a.m. for children up to 8 years of age, pre-registration required.   
 
The schedule and entry fees include:
 
Kids race, 8 a.m. ½-mile run, free for children up to 8 years old.
 
Women's 5K, 8:30, $10 race fee.
 
Community 5K, 9, $10 race fee.
 
Women Run the World shirts will be available for purchase for $20 . An awards ceremony and raffle will be held at 10 a.m.
 
Registration will be online until Saturday, May 7, at 5 p.m. at www.berkshirerunningcenter.com   Bib and shirt pick up will be available on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Berkshire Running Center, located in the Allendale Shopping Center and then Sunday morning at Berkshire Community College beginning at 7 a.m. until 15 minutes before each event.
