PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Museum announced a lineup of screenings in Little Cinema.

Through partnerships with Exhibition on Screen, National Theatre Live, and Great Art on Screen, Berkshire Museum brings pieces of art and culture to Pittsfield.

Exhibition on Screen is a look into the life and impact of great artists of the ages. Soon to come to Little Cinema (beginning Thursday, May 19) is "Frida Kahlo" a detailed look at the artist herself. The film explores her letters and her key works as guides to reveal the secrets behind the symbolism contained within her work. Two screenings of "Frida Kahlo" will feature Spanish subtitles; check the upcoming screening list for dates and times.

National Theatre Live screenings bring the stage performances of various London theatres. These screenings offer an up-close look at some of the world's top performers, including Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan in the upcoming screening of "Skylight" (screenings starting May 5, see screening list for full schedule). Upcoming screenings also include "The Book of Dust from the world of "The Golden Compass/His Dark Materials" (by author Philip Pullman) a fantasy book series, and the production of "Cyrano de Bergerac" starring James McAvoy.

Great Art on Screen, a series of event documentaries exclusively for cinemas, is an in-depth look into the works and legacy of famed artists. Summer screenings include "Raphael: The Young Prodigy," which follows the life story and work of one of the most influential Renaissance painters.

"I'm excited to offer this chance to see film programs that really pop on the big screen – documentaries and theatrical productions that make for unique entertainment since you won't find them on most streaming services and since they're wonderful to experience with an audience," Berkshire Museum Experience Manager Emily Rome said.
