One SUV can be seen on its roof in the middle of Pomeroy Avenue.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A sport utility vehicle was T-boned and flipped by a white Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of East Housatonic Street and upper Pomeroy Avenue early Wednesday evening.

There were no serious injuries and no criminal charges reported. The collision occurred around 5 p.m.

Pittsfield Police reported that the green SUV paused at the intersection of Pomeroy and East Housatonic and pulled out into traffic as a white Jeep Patriot was traveling west from Appleton Avenue.

The green SUV was then T-Boned and flipped onto its roof near the stop sign at Pomeroy Avenue and sustained damage to the windshield and roof. Its airbags were also deployed.

The Jeep sustained damage to the front and front driver's side and its airbag was deployed.

The occupants of the flipped vehicle were taken away by ambulance. Police said there did not appear to be serious injuries.

Both vehicles had to be towed and firefighters applied material to absorb leaking fluids. The first responders were also sweeping windshield glass off the road from the flipped vehicle.

East Housatonic Street was closed off from near Howard Avenue to Bartlett Avenue until both vehicles were removed. It is estimated that the street opened up about a half-hour after police arrived.
