PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Music School (BMS) announced the return of Adventures in Music, a program for youth this summer. 

 

Designed for young music lovers, Adventures in Music gives budding musician a foundation in making music in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Participants will enjoy group classes in world music, chorus, puppetry, and creative movement on the tented lawn of BMS's historic campus, as well as small group workshops in piano, percussion, opera, and visual arts interpretation.

 

BMS faculty member Daniel Ariel will be one of the teachers working with our students this summer. 

 

"I can't think of anything more enjoyable than summertime and music in the open air, can you?" Ariel said. "Adventures in Music will be an unforgettable exploration of music and the sonic arts for our young students. What better way to prepare the youth of the Berkshires for the wonderful music we have here in these hills than with music on the lawn, movement arts and drama, and a world tour of the many different instruments we feature at the music school." 

 

Ariel will be joined by BMS faculty members Abby Daggett and Allen Livermore.

Adventures in Music will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the CDC, and local public health officials, with an emphasis placed on the health and safety of BMS students, faculty, and staff. In the event that the program cannot be conducted safely in-person, it will be moved online programs and conducted via Zoom, Skype, and/or FaceTime.
