Great Barrington, Adams 12-Year-Olds Earn Narrow Wins in Little League Tourney

ADAMS, Mass -- The Great Barrington 12-year-old All-Stars executed a rundown to stop a runner attempting to score on a whild pitch in the sixth inning to secure a 5-4 win over the Pittsfield Little League National Division in the Don Gleason District 1 Championship on Friday night.
 
Finn Mason earned the win on the mound by throwing 4-two-thirds innings. Trevor Leonard picked up the save.
 
Johnny Ireland and Levi Martin each had a hit for Great Barrington.
 
Kalvin Phillips had a two-run single for the Nats who got a triple from Ruben Freed and a strong performance from Kevin Smith on the mound.
 
In Friday's late game, hosts Adams-Cheshire defeated Dalton-Hinsdale, 10-9, in 10 innings.
 
Great Barrington faces Dalton-Hinsdale, and the Pittsfield Nationals take on the Pittsfield Americans on Sunday.
