LEOMINSTER, Mass. – Going into the championship round of the Section 1 tournament, Pittsfield Little League American Division 12-year-old All-Stars Manager Ty Perrault said his team was going to have to play its best game of the year two days in a row in order to advance to the state tournament.

The Americans are halfway there.

Sebastian Herrera homered twice Friday in a 12-2, four-inning win over Leominster to force a winner-take-all final in the double-elimination tournament.

Herrera and Brendan Merwin hit back-to-back homers in the first inning to get Pittsfield American off to a fast start.

On Saturday at 1 p.m., Leominster will visit Deming Park for a game that will decide the sectional championship.
