Berkshire County is hosting a variety of events this weekend including live music, hikes, and more.
Thursday, Jan. 19
Vinyl Night with DJ Pup Daddy
Methuselah Bar and Lounge, Pittsfield
Start your weekend early this week with mixes by Pup Daddy at the Methuselah Bar and Lounge from 8 until 11 p.m.
The event will feature vinyl samples of artist’s and group’s earlier recordings followed by one of their bigger hits.
Friday, Jan. 20
Live Music at the Methuselah
Methuselah Bar and Lounge, Pittsfield
The Methuselah is hosting a performance by Providence-R.I.-based singer and songwriter Beth Killian from 7 until 10 p.m.
Easy Trail Hike
Mount Greylock Visitor Center, Lanesborough
Take an easy paced hike this Friday at 1 p.m. weather permitting.
The 1 to 3-mile guided hikes is geared for seniors, but open to all ages. The hiking time varies from 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Be prepared for variable, winter weather, wear appropriate clothing and sturdy boots or snowshoes. Traction devices and trekking poles are also advisable. Bring water and a snack.

Tracking Wildlife
Berkshire Community College
Berkshire Environmental Action Team presents "Tracking Wildlife: Stories from the More-Than-Human World" at 6 p.m. in BCC's Boland Theater. Dan Gardoqui, a naturalist, wildlife tracker, and educator, will share photos and stories from his tracking experiences. The hour presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
Free and open to the public; suggested $10 donation.
Gardoqui will also lead two tracking workshops on Saturday in Windsor. Size limit is 10 and the cost is $50. More information here.
Saturday, Jan. 21
Beginner Snowshoe/Winter Hike at Housatonic Flats
Housatonic Flats Reserve, Great Barrington.
The Berkshire Natural Resources Council and Great Barrington Land Conservancy is hosting an easy 0.9 mile hike this Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon.
If weather permits, the hike will be by snowshoe. Snowshoes in adult and kid sizes will be available on loan.
Be sure to bring water, sturdy footwear and heavy layers. More information here.
Free Public Skating Opportunity
Boys & Girls Club, Pittsfield
The city of Pittsfield Recreation Program and the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires have once again teamed up to provide a free public skating opportunity to the community.
The first 100 people through the door will receive free admission and skate rentals from 3 until 4:30 p.m.
Winter Wonderland Activity Day
Mount Greylock State Reservation Visitor Center, Lanesborough
A winter wonderland activity day will be held at the visitor center this Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m.
The day will feature board games, winter-themed crafts, and scavenger hunts. Weather permitting, build a snowman or bring a sled to go sledding.
The activity day is free for all ages but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Trial Yoga Classes

Radiance Yoga is offering free classes this weekend for current members and for those who would like to give yoga a try. There are three classes on Saturday morning and four classes on Sunday.

Berkshire Grown Great Barrington Farmers Market
Housy Dome, Housatonic
Berkshire Grown holds a farmers' market this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Housy Dome, 1064 Main St.
The location is included on the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority's Route 21. The market features locally grown and produced foods, including fruits and vegetables, cheeses, and more.
Massachusetts Healthy Incentives and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance programs are accepted with a SNAP match of up to $25.
Live Music at the Freight Yard Pub
Freight Yard Pub, North Adams
The two-man band Jason & Trev Acoustic will be performing at Freight Yard Pub and Restaurant this Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m.
Enjoy a night by a fire and have food while listening to a range of music genres including modern pop, rock, country, blues, folk and more.
Shadow Showing and Q&A
Mass MoCA, North Adams
Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art will show the film "The Shadow Whose Prey The Hunter Becomes" this Sunday at 7 p.m.
The film was developed with the Sundance Theatre Lab during a Mass MoCA residency in 2019. It reflects Sundance Theatre Lab's commitment to alternative models of story creation and screen production.
Following the film there will be a question-and-answer session. Tickets range from $5 to $28.
Latin Dance Party
101 Restaurant and Bar, Pittsfield
Open dance floor from 9 pm to 1 am with
DJ Chico Jimenez will be spinning tracks from 9 p.m. to 1 p.m. at 101 Restaurant on the second floor of the Holiday Inn, West Street. Get prepared with a salsa class with Luana at 8 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 22
Community Wassail Celebration
Tourists Hotel, North Adams
The Berkshire Cider and Tourists in partnership with Tourists hotel will be celebrating wassail this Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m.
The free event will feature remarks from Berkshire Cider Project owners, a brief history of the wassail tradition, and a blessing of the trees.
Celebrate the tradition with snacks, a photo booth, live folk music, and do-it-yourself Wassail crowns and mini dried flower arrangements provided by Full Well Farm
