It's a Pittsfield Thriller

Author Ana Reyes is in Pittsfield this week to talk about and sign copies of her Pittsfield-set novel "House in the Pines."

Join her and WAMC's "The Roundtable" host Joe Donahue at the Colonial Theatre at 1 p.m. on Saturday for "A Conversation with Author Ana Reyes." Get a behind the scenes look at the inspiration, writing process, and challenges of the mystery novel and join in the Q&A moderated by Donahue.

Tickets for the event are $10 and are general admission. Attendees will also have the opportunity to have their copy of the book signed. More information here.

Reyes will also attend an informal meet and greet on the Berkshire Athenaeum terrace from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The initial concept of the novel came from Reyes' entry into a writing contest at the Pittsfield library and the terrace is a prominent setting in the thriller.

The city's Office of Cultural Development is also hosting a scavenger hunt based on the book from 8 a.m. on Friday to 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Head to significant locations in the book — Wally at the Berkshire Museum, Berkshire Athenaeum Terrace, Park Square, Patrick's Pub, the YMCA and the Popcorn Wagon (or paintbox with Popcorn Wagon) — and post selfies with #HouseInThePinesScavengerHunt and #LovePittsfield.
