Pittsfield's First Friday at Five
Downtown Pittsfield
Time: 5 p.m. 

 
The city's combined Third Thursdays and First Fridays Artswalks event is back this Friday. Downtown Pittsfield will be alive with activities, including the Housie Shakers at Persip Park, a family fun zone and makers market on North Street, a dance zone at Dunham Mall, and the Albany Berkshire Ballet will perform at 5:30 close to Park Square.

North Adams First Friday

Time: 5 to 9 p.m. 
 
The city's kicks off Pride Month. Events are moving inside to 85 Main in case of rain, with Drag Story Hour at 6 p.m., a night market and a photobooth. 
 
The celebration continues with the scheduled First Friday’s after party featuring DJ Elixir, DJ iamsam, and DJ DUB TC at Bright Ideas Brewing starting at 8.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is hosting "Touch-A-Trucks" around the state, including at District 1 headquarters in Lenox. Families can touch and look at heavy equipment vehicles including a dump truck, bucket truck, plows and more.

Pittsfield native Jené Sais Quoi will sign her memoir "This Little Light of Mine" at Barnes & Noble. Formerly going by Indashio, she is a fashion designer, activist, and entrepreneur. Jené Sais Quoi will host and celebrity judge this year's Boston Pride Parade on June 14.

9th Annual Berkshire Pride Festival and Parade

The annual pride parade starts off at Park Square and will have food vendors, music, activities, and community resources and advocacy groups.

Zine Workshop for Ages 8 - 18
North Adams Public Library
Time: 10:30 a.m.

Children and their families are encouraged to make zine, a small handmade artbook of your choosing, whether its a collage, poetry, drawings, etc. You're encouraged to bring magazines, markers, or stickers. Basic supplies will be provided.

National Trails Day Wilbur's Clearing Hike
Wilbur's Clearing Trailhead Parking
Notch Road, North Adams
Time: 11 to 1:30

Held annually on the first Saturday in June, this 3-mile moderately strenuous hike starts at Wilbur's Clearing on Notch Road in North Adams and follows a short segment of the legendary Appalachian Trail. Along the way, enjoy a stunning vista at Mount Prospect Overlook and explore a classic back-country campsite. Hike is suitable for most abilities.

Come as You Are: Pride Block Party
Wander, Pittsfield
Time: 4 to 10 p.m.

The alley by Wander will have music by DJ Pup Daddy, and dancing. Around 5 p.m. there will be a community vow in plus commitment ceremony for couples to be legally wed and say "I do," must have marriage license with you for those seeking a legal marriage. Couples will also be able to renew their vows.

Berkshire Mushroom Festival

Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is a 21 years of age and older activity running Saturday and Sunday. Learn about mushrooms, forage and meet local vendors. Will include discussions on psychedelic mushrooms, art making, use in tinctures, cultivation, identification and responsible uses.

33rd Annual Harry A. Bateman Memorial Jimmy Fund Fishing Derby
Onota Lake Pavilion, Pittsfield
Time: 6 to noon

No fishing license needed. All proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy Fund / Dana Farber Cancer Institute For Children. Fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

The south side of Main Street from American Legion Drive will be closed to make room for the city's weekly farmers market, which will kick off this Saturday. Explore downtown North Adams and discover local businesses and fresh produce from local farms. More information here

Roots Rising, the region's first teen-run market, will hold an indoor farmers market this Saturday. The event will feature live music, chef demos, workshops, children's activities, and more. More information is available here

The market features healthy food and products from a variety of local vendors in an attempt to nourish the community by protecting "local small farms, land, bees, and economy."
