PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Wednesday, Aug. 6, the Pittsfield Police Department will be hosting the local National Night Out event at the Common Park on First St. in downtown Pittsfield.

This event will run from 5-7 PM. This event is free and open to the public.

According to a press release, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.  National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

This year's local event will feature face painting, a balloon artist, bounce houses, music, as well as games for the whole family. Free food will be provided.

A small Touch A Truck display will be set up.
