ARLINGTON, Vt. — There's a quiet and cozy cat waiting for a lap and a forever home at Second Chance Animal Shelter.
iBerkshire's Companion Corner is a weekly series spotlighting an animal in our local shelters that is ready to find a home.
Keekster is a 12-year-old dilute calico who was given to the shelter over a month ago because she wasn't getting along well in her last home.
"She was in a home for quite a while, but unfortunately, it was too much of a stimulating environment, so she wasn't really getting along with other people in the home. She's been great here, but she's just definitely would benefit from a quieter home. Not a huge fan of other cats. That's why she's got her own room in here," said shelter manager Troy Quinn.
Keekster loves to lay down and lounge on her cat tree.
"She just loves lounging around. From what we've seen, she will get up on the bench with volunteers, stuff like that. She just loves just sitting here, really. She'll roam around a bit in the morning, especially when food's ready," he said.
Keekster would be good in a calm, peaceful household.
"She would benefit from a nice, quiet home. She gets overstimulated easily. I guess that's pretty typical of calicoes, but in here, it's nice and quiet," Quinn said. "She's very mellow and chill."
Keekster needs to go to a home with no dogs or other cats. It is also recommended to have older children, as younger kids might overwhelm her.
If you think Keekster would make a good companion, you can visit her at Second Chance Animal Shelter.
