Katie Fogel, Jiminy Peak's director of marketing, selected the drawings made by Conte fifth-graders Addilyn Baran, Ana Churchumbi Cuyago and Bella D'Elia as the best representations of the ski resort.

Rachelle Therrien's fifth grade class participated in iBerkshires' Create an Ad program.

Jiminy Peak offers sales and rental equipment.

The resort has 45 trails for skiing and snowboarding, with 25 open at night.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Fifth-grade students at Conte Community School captured the magic of Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort's winter season, bringing the snowy wonderland to life as part of our Junior Marketers Create an Ad series.

The mountain resort in Hancock offers everything needed to create unforgettable winter memories — from ski and snowboard lessons to a restaurant, coffee house, ski and snowboard rentals and repairs, and an on-site shop for winter-sport essentials, including coats, gloves, hand warmers, helmets, and so much more.

For those who want to immerse themselves, Jiminy Peak has lodging, including Crane Lodge, named after on of its founders Fred Crane, and JJ's Lodge, named after the resort's former chief financial officer, Jack Filiault, whose nickname was JJ.

The resort, located at 37 Corey Road in Hancock, aims to enhance people's lives through winter activities and help create memorable Mountain Resort experiences that keep people coming back again and again, said Katie Fogel, Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort director of marketing.

"Families and friends can create memories getting out on the slopes and it's something to get people outside and get active in the wintertime. It certainly can be hard for some people to get out when it's cold outside, but skiing is definitely something that allows people to do that," she said.

"We really want to get people out, get people enjoying the winter season, and making memories with their friends and family."

The resort is home to 45 trails for skiing and snowboarding, terrain jumps, scenic chairlift rides to the 2,380-foot summit, snow tubing, and educational programming.

The mountain is a magical experience, especially at night when 25 of its trails are lit up for night skiing and snowboarding, which is a unique experience that not many ski areas have, Fogel said.

This year, Mother Nature has covered the Berkshires in snow, but even during lean winters, Jiminy Peak's 450 snow guns ensure the mountain remains a true winter wonderland from top to bottom.

The resort's longest slope is Left Bank, two miles from the summit to the base and there are bunny hills for beginners, including chipmunk and cricket, and shorter trails that connect to some of the mountain's other trails, including Deer Run and Glider.

Even the nippy air can't stop the fun because there is plenty of gear to help mountain adventures stay warm. Forgot your gear at home or don't have any, the resort has all the equipment you may need at its ski, snowboard and outdoor gear shop Mountain Sports by Potter Brothers.

The Junior Marketers Create an Ad program is a fun way to see the resort from the perspective of kids, Fogel said.

"I love the students' drawings … it's so fun to see the kids' perspective on Jiminy, and they did an awesome job, she said.

The students in Rachelle Therrien's class drew many of the resort's aspects, from skiing, snowboarding, the snow, chairlift, people happily experiencing the mountain, and enjoying the winter, Fogel said.

Fogel said it was very difficult to pick the three winners but took into consideration drawings that included detail and looked like Jiminy.

"They all did such a great job, it was very hard to choose," she said.

The three winners selected were Addilyn Baran for first place, Ana Churchumbi Cuyago for second, and Bella D'Elia for third. All three winners described the fun environment Jiminy Peak creates.

Jiminy Peak offers winter sports, lodging, dining, and equipment sales and rentals.
Addilyn's drawing showcased a woman snowboarding down the mountain surrounded by snow, a snowman with a scarf and top hat, and wildlife, specifically a white snowshoe hare.

"There is a bunny in the background and everything, and a snowman, indicating that the kids could have had some fun up there," she said.

Ana drew a person skiing down the mountain, surrounded by trees. She hopes that the person looks like she is having fun.

Bella prominently displayed the chairlift in her drawing, hanging over the skier sliding down the mountain on a sunny day, surrounded by trees.

"I feel like there would be fun in the air. Like, you know when you're in this place and there's like fun everywhere happening," she said.
