Governor Appoints Member of Massport Board of Directors

BOSTON — Governor Maura Healey announced the appointment of Pamela Everhart to serve on the Massport Board of Directors.    Everhart currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Regional Public Affairs, Inclusion, and Impact at Fidelity Investments.    "Pamela Everhart is a highly respected business and community leader who understands the essential role that Massport plays in Massachusetts' economy," said Governor Healey. Dalton Historical Hopes to Send Historical District Data to State

DALTON, Mass. — The first phase in establishing the proposed second historical district is moving along nicely, Historical Commission co-Chair Louisa Horth said at Wednesday's meetings.    The commission hopes to send its material to Massachusetts Historical for review and approval by the end of July.    During its meeting last month, the commission divided the proposed district into multiple sections and assigned specific commissioners to each section.   The proposed district would run from the cemetery on Park Avenue down to Depot Street. Thus far, the district has pictures of all the historical homes from Park Ave to Depot

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Gavin O’Donnell went 3-for-4 with a triple and a double to lead the Pittsfield Post 68 Juniors to a 15-0 win over West Springfield Post 207 and a double-header sweep at Bullens Field on Sunday.   In the first game of the twin-bill, Post 68 edged Westfield Post 124, 7-5.   In the dominant, five-inning win in Game 2, Simon Mele and Ethan O’Donnell split time on the mound, striking out nine and not allowing a hit while walking four.   Post 68’s offense pounded out 10 hits, including doubles from Christian Aldrich and Jason Codey.   Pittsfield jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and scored six times in the fourth to put the game

Pittsfield 10-Year-Olds Win District 1 Little League Title

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Chase Albano struck out eight, and the Pittsfield Little League 10-year-old All-Stars Sunday completed a dominant run through the Don Gleason District 1 Tournament.   Myles Morrison-Gould went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Pittsfield won its fifth game via the run rule, beating Great Barrington, 19-2, in three innings to complete a two-game sweep of the best-of-three championship series.   Pittsfield moves on to the three-team, double-elimination Section 1 tournament. Adams-Cheshire Bounces Back, Pittsfield Rolls in Little League Tourney

Volunteers Clean Up the Housatonic River

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Saturday, June 29, the Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) and Housatonic Valley Association (HVA) held their first Housatonic River Cleanup of the season.

With the help of over a dozen volunteers, they cleaned out trash and other dumped items from six locations along the River in Pittsfield. 

BEAT also conducted a trash inventory of what was removed from the banks and bottom of the river.  Some of the most notable items included ten shopping carts, multiple cell phones, hundreds of empty "nip" bottles, bicycles, scooters, and vehicle parts—including eight tires, a fender, rims, reflectors, and license plates. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Music School is pleased to announce the 2024-2025 Talent and Merit Scholarship recipients.   Students who are accepted into the Talent & Merit Scholarship Program benefit from up to 100 percent tuition assistance. PITTSFIELD , Mass. — Cam Sievers’ 11 strikeouts and a strong third inning at the plate Saturday led Dalton-Hinsdale past Great Barrington, 8-1, in the first game of the Donald Gleason 12-year-old Little League District 1 Tournament.   Sievers, Nate Dearborn and Sully Duquette combined on a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts as DH started pool play with a 1-0 record. Dalton Fire Chief Earns Accreditation
