BOSTON — The Healey-Driscoll Administration swore in members of the new Transportation Funding Task Force, which is tasked with developing recommendations for a long-term, sustainable transportation finance plan. The recommendations will address the need for a safe, reliable, equitable and efficient transportation network, including roadways, bridges, railways, and bus and transit systems. The Task Force, which held its first meeting today after the swearing-in, includes public and private sector leaders and is chaired by Transportation Secretary and CEO Monica Tibbits-Nutt.  HANCOCK, Mass. — Last weekend a steady stream of cars carried families who enjoyed their annual February break ski vacation in the Berkshires back to their daily routines, their kids brimming with exciting stories of skiing, snowboarding, tubing and more. Among them were Ellary Kinnane and Greta Baier, two high school sophomores with a rather unique tale of their own skiing adventure. Kinnane, 15, and Baier, 16, are diagnosed with nemaline myopathy, and several other medical conditions. "I think it's a great reuse of a property with both a training and education piece and a community development piece," Mayor Peter Marchetti said. PITTSFIELD, Mass. The need for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding is increasing but the budget is not.
On Wednesday, the city hosted a hearing for the Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Action Plan and input on fair housing. Many expressed gratitude for CDBG funding and emphasized its importance.
Rosalind Kopfstein, chair of the Human Services Advisory Council, has been frustrated to see the number fluctuate over the years. She said it was "very very low" at this point.

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — An army of construction vehicles can be seen cracking and crushing the surface of Site 9.
"It's pretty amazing the amount of work that is going on over there," Business Development Manager Michael Coakley said to the Pittsfield Economic Development Authority on Thursday.
"There is a lot of equipment they have and it's pretty great, 12 or 13 of those big huge construction pieces of equipment."
Crews are working to excavate the area and bring fill over from another site by working in thirds, starting on the southern portion of the property and working towards the middle.
