Pittsfield's Former Polish Club Eyed For $20 Million Condo ProjectBy Brittany Polito, iBerkshires Staff

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — With a sizable grant from the state, the former Polish Community Club is eyed for a 40-unit housing development that adds four additional buildings to the property. On Wednesday, the Affordable Housing Trust heard from developer Robert Shan about the project that could cost as much as $20 million. Planners are vying for $10 million through the MassHousing CommonWealth Builder Program created to facilitate the construction of single-family homes and condominiums affordable to households with moderate incomes.

BOSTON — The Healey-Driscoll Administration announced an investment of $50 million in initiatives to build out electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Massachusetts. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — 2023 was a robust year for the Love of T Foundation, dedicated to closing the gap in Berkshire County's behavioral health care.
After a year of connecting individuals with peer support and welcoming new staff members, the foundation is gearing up for its sold-out "Dance the Blues Away" gala on Saturday at the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
Last year, the event raised over $20,000 for the foundation's "Berkshire County Peer Connection," providing 230 hours of one-on-one peer support to 68 individuals navigating suicide. This year, the goal is to provide 520 hours of peer support to 172 individuals.

Because of this, no parking tickets will be issued for meter violations today. All other parking regulations remain in effect. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Tuesday, Feb. 20, Lochan Kissoon, age 68, pleaded guilty to two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14. Kissoon was sentenced in Berkshire Superior Court by Judge Agostini. He was sentenced to 2 years in the House of Corrections. Upon release, Kissoon is ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 16 and to register as a sex offender. He was charged in connection to a June 2021 incident when he sexually assaulted a minor. The incident took place in his apartment.
