Adams Lions Club Golf Tourney Set for May 18

ADAMS, Mass. -- The Adams Lions Club’s annual golf tournament will be Saturday, May 18, at Forest Park Country Club.   Teams of four will compete in a 9-hole scramble format with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.   Proceeds will support Lions initiatives, including scholarships for local high school graduates and community events, such as a Halloween parade for local children and lunch for senior citizens. In addition, the club assists residents who need help with vision and hearing loss-related needs and supports research to cure eye diseases and diabetes.   The entry fee is $50 per player or $200 per team and includes nine holes of golf, carts, longest drive and

Dalton Invites Community Input on Hazard Mitigation Plan

Pittsfield Schools Awarded Funds to Boost FAFSA Completion

BOSTON — The Healey-Driscoll Administration is providing grants to more than 100 Massachusetts public schools serving Gateway Cities to help high school seniors complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).   In Berkshire County, Eagle Education Academy will receive $30, Pittsfield High School will receive $5,400 and Taconic High will receive $5,670.   These grants, totaling more than $550,000, follow an announcement that the state's priority deadline to apply for Massachusetts financial aid via MASSGrant has been extended from May 1 to July 1, 2024. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mosquito spraying remains a polarizing topic as the Board of Health approaches its decision on a control plan.

Dalton Planning Board Researches Tiny Homes Further

DALTON, Mass.—The Planning Board will continue to research tiny homes to inform whether to start the process of changing the town's current Accessory Dwelling Units bylaws.   Changing the town's bylaws would require a town meeting vote.    During its March meeting, Tiny Home Industry Association President Dan Fitzpatrick joined the meeting via Zoom to give a presentation on tiny homes.
