To be eligible for the dean's list, students must be matriculated in a certificate or degree program; complete a minimum of six traditionally graded credit hours; and achieved a 3.250 to 3.749 grade point average for an honors designation or a 3.750 to 4.000 grade point average for a high honors designation. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Local accountants want to take the intimidation out of tax season for business owners with the help of tacos. Stephanie Hill-Manuel and Charles Manuel of Breezy Tax are hosting a "Tacos and Taxes" event in downtown Pittsfield. "We just really wanted to demystify it and take it down a notch and open it up to questions," Hill-Manuel said. "But also for people that are running into the March 15 deadline, that's when business tax returns are supposed to be in or you need to file an extension." PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Two of the three votes needed to move forward with a proposal for a combined elementary school build will be made this week. The School Building Needs Commission will vote Tuesday on the submission of a statement of interest to the Massachusetts School Building Association for Crosby Elementary School and Conte Community School. The School Committee will tackle it on Wednesday, ahead of the April 12 deadline. The City Council is expected to make a decision on March 26. The two outdated facilities have insufficient layouts and are in need of significant repair. The proposal rebuilds both schools on the Crosby site with some shared facilities. If approvals

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A tax increment exemption has been proposed for Allegrone Construction Co.'s $18 million overhaul of two North Street properties. Tuesday's City Council agenda includes a requested 10-year TIE for the $17.8 million project that redevelops the historic Wright Building and the Jim's House of Shoes property. The project will combine the two buildings into one development, retaining the commercial storefronts on North Street and providing 35 new rental units, 28 of which will be market-rate units and seven of which will be affordable units. During the board's meeting in February, Tiny Home Industry Association President Dan Fitzpatrick joined the meeting via Zoom to give a presentation on tiny homes. Fitzpatrick is interested in working with the town to amend its bylaws to permit movable tiny homes especially as Accessory Dwelling Units. BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) announced that it has reached a milestone of helping more than 20,000 animals through its Spay/Neuter Voucher Program. Since 2012, MDAR's Division of Animal Health has administered vouchers through the Massachusetts Animal Fund (Fund), providing critical veterinary care to over 13,300 cats and dogs owned by low-income Massachusetts residents, 3,600 cats and dogs housed in municipal animal control facilities, 1,100 community cats, and 2,400 cats and dogs in high-risk situations due to disease outbreaks or inhumane conditions. State February Revenue Collections Over $2 Billion08:30AM / Sunday, March 10, 2024 | | BOSTON, Mass. — Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) Commissioner Geoffrey Snyder today announced that preliminary revenue collections for February totaled $2.007 billion, $27 million or 1.3 percent more than actual collections in February 2023, but $11 million or 0.6 percent below benchmark.
