 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — As part of its expansion, Allendale Pines plans to offer a storage center for residents to curb outdoor clutter.
Last week, the Zoning Board of Appeals continued a request to amend the mobile home community's 2022 site plan to include an over 3,000 square foot storage building. The applicants requested a continuance to October 15 for renotification.
"This is a great project and a great property for the fact that we've, as time has gone by, we've continually been able to provide attainable housing and more uses within the property itself here," Brent White of White Engineering explained on behalf of owner Eagle Allendale

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Humane Society supported more than 23,000 pets over the past year through it life-saving and pet retention programs. These programs provide resources including pet food and free foster care to help families keep their pets. City Clerk Michele Benjamin pulls names for ballot positions last week with Assistant Clerk Joshua Munn and Head Clerk Sandra Knight. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — In preparation for the Nov. 4 municipal election, candidates for contested seats drew their ballot positions.
City Clerk Michele Benjamin addressed a small crowd in council chambers on Thursday, first congratulating all candidates for their nominations and placement on the ballot.
Positions were drawn for at-large, Ward 2, Ward 5, Ward 6, Ward 7, and School Committee. At-large candidates Lawrence Klein, Earl Persip III, and Sara Hathaway attended.

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Stephanie Rose CHS Foundation is raising awareness of a rarely known condition. Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome is an often misdiagnosed condition in someone who may use cannabis consistently over a long period of time. According to the Cleveland Clinic, up to 33 percent of frequent cannabis users seeking emergency room care displayed its symptoms of nausea, intense abdominal pain and vomiting. This can cause dehydration, loss of appetite, electrolyte imbalance and kidney failure. Cannabis is often used to reduce pain and nausea and promote the appetite, especially with those undergoing chemotherapy. CHS does the opposite. The 0 Comments

Gateway Fiber's Senior Vice President Sarah Lang says the company uses existing infrastructure to run its network. PITTSFIELD, Mass.— The City Council has OK'd fiber-optic networks for Gateway Fiber and Archtop Fiber, bringing more options to the city for internet.
On Tuesday, councilors approved Gateway Fiber's request to deploy an aerial network in Pittsfield and Archtop Fiber's plans to install infrastructure in the city right-of-way.
Gateway Fiber held a ribbon-cutting at the Colonial Theatre in July to mark the start of construction in Pittsfield. The fiber-optic network will offer subscription plans ranging from $65 to $150 per month,
