Cam Reynolds was 2-for-3 for Post 68, which is fielding two American Legion Senior Division teams for the first time this summer. Dylan Turner earned the win on the mound, striking out five, walking none and allowing two earned runs in six innings of work before giving the ball to Jason Fields for a scoreless seventh. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Friday afternoon died later that same evening. Luis Chin, 87, died after being taken to Berkshire Medical Center, according to information provided Monday by the District Attorney's Office. The accident occurred at about 2:43 p.m. on Dalton Avenue near Dartmouth Street. A 2013 Chevy Impala being driven by John Clark, 93, was westbound on Dalton Avenue when it collided with Chin, who was crossing the street, according to the DA's Office. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — There may be no lifeguards at Onota Lake's Burbank Park this year due to a lack of applicants.
"It's been increasingly challenging with each passing year to attract lifeguards. In the past number of years, we've really tried to step up how we seek applicants. We've been reaching out to partner organizations. We've done it all. We've offered to pay for lifeguard certification courses. We just have not seen the applicants come through," Parks, Open Space, and Natural Resources Manager James McGrath told the Parks Commission on Tuesday.

 PITTSFIELD, Mass.— Kirvin Memorial Park is staged for "significant" floodplain and habitat restoration beginning in the fall. The city, in collaboration with the Housatonic River Natural Resources Trustees and General Electric Co., is working to enhance the natural resources of the Housatonic River Watershed. This project improves about 17 acres in the floodplain of Sackett and Ashley Brooks by removing invasive plant species, establishing native vegetation, and expanding wetland conditions. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City of Pittsfield and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) have been working with SumCo Eco-Contracting to develop the traffic control plan for the Bel Air Dam removal project. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Wahconah Street during construction, although there will be a slight lane shift implemented which will be marked by traffic cones and drums.
