Closure of Holmes Road bridge While Repairs Are Underway| 10:57AM / Tuesday, June 20, 2023 | |
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will begin repair on the Holmes Road bridge starting on June 23, 2023. During this work, the Holmes Road bridge, between 650 and 677 Holmes Road, will be closed. No thru traffic will be allowed. The city recommends that drivers seek alternate routes. Traffic traveling southbound on Holmes Road will be detoured towards Pomeroy Avenue, Crofut Street and then to Route 7/20. Traffic traveling northbound should utilize Route 7/20. While this project is underway, construction work will occur Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project is slated to be complete by Aug 25 pending no 0 Comments

DALTON, Mass. — After a long search and salary revision, the town has filled the vacant town planner position. The post has been vacant since last October and town meeting voted to increase its salary by 11.26 percent to $58,335 when it failed to attract candidates. The Select Board during its meeting last week approved the appointment of the new Janko Tomasic, who is expected to start on July 10. Tomasic has lived in Western Massachusetts for most of his life and earned his master's degree from the University of Massachusetts' Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning. Parks Commissioner Simon Muil thinks the park should retain its 'rough around the edges' appeal. PITTSFIELD, Mass.— When it comes to the redesign of Wahconah Park, residents would like to see the historic baseball facility's charm and hometown feel preserved.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City Council last week approved a 10-year tax increment financing agreement for Bousquet Sport that will relieve about $215,000 in real estate taxes — but not without pushback.
