Classical Beat: Enjoy Great Music at Tanglewood, Sevenars Festivals

As Tanglewood enters its fourth week, stellar performances will take center stage in Ozawa Hall and in the Koussevitsky Shed.

To experience world-class instrumental soloists, such as the stellar piano virtuoso Yuja Wang. Also not to be missed are the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, as well as visiting guest ensembles and BSO and TMC soloists as they perform chamber and orchestral masterworks by iconic composers Purcell, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Wagner, Prokofiev, Richard Strauss, Vaughan Williams and Ives.

Musical Mountain Day Returns to Bousquet

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mountain Day returns for its third year at Bousquet on Saturday.    Doors open at 1 p.m. for a lineup of performances, food and beer trucks, face painting, lawn games, and more. Kids 4 Harmony Returns to Ozawa Hall

BCHS Presents 'Sailing Towards My Father'

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Wednesday, June 26, the Berkshire County Historical Society will present "Sailing Towards My Father," a one-man play about Herman Melville performed by Stephen Collins and written and directed by Carl A. Rossi.
The play chronicles Melville's life from youth to old age, concentrating on his evolution as a writer and his complex relationship with God; his parents and siblings; his wife and children; and Nathaniel Hawthorne. The performance takes place at Herman Melville's historic home Arrowhead at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available by using the BOOK NOW button at berkshirehistory.org; $15 BCHS Members, $20 non-members.

Free Eagles Community Band Concert

Berkshire Organizations Awarded Mass Cultural Council Grants

Barrington Stage Kicks off 30th Anniversary Season

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Artistic Director Alan Paul, will launch its 30th anniversary season with a new production of the multi-Tony Award-winning musical, "La Cage aux Folles."    The production will play June 11-July 6 on the Boyd-Quinson Stage (30 Union Street).
