PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Wednesday, Oct. 26, actress and Arrowhead docent Francine Ciccarelli will portray Herman Melville's wife Elizabeth and lead a virtual tour of the house, sharing anecdotes about life at Arrowhead, her children, her gardens, and her work as Herman's copyist.    Tickets are $10 for Berkshire County Historical Society (BCHS) members; $15 for non-members. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — One dozen Berkshire county libraries are hosting The Berkshire Libraries Fall Crawl from October 17 to October 22, 2022.   All are welcome to explore the Berkshires by visiting public libraries across the county. Participants can pick up a passport at the first library they visit and then drive from library to library, collecting passport stamps and small prizes.   Participants are asked to take a photo of themselves at each library along the way and use the tag #BerkshireLibraryCrawl2022. LENOX, Mass. — Ventfort Hall will be decorated for Halloween weekend, Friday, Oct. 28 through Monday, Oct. 31, 2021.

Guests are invited to wear their Halloween costumes or Halloween themed outfits at any event or visit over the course of the weekend. 

The mansion will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday for regular self-guided tour admission, as well as special extended hours for regular self-guided tours from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday evening. At 11 p.m. Friday night, join Robert Oakes, author of "Ghosts of the Berkshires," for a late-night edition of his Ghost Tour of the mansion.

On Saturday, the mansion will be open for regular self-guided tours from 10 a.m.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Transformer Comedy Fest will feature three days of comedians from across the nation at Flat Burger Society and Dottie's Coffee Lounge.

The event runs from Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. with headliners Caitlin Cook, Anthony DeVito, and Josh Gondelman.

The festival is independent and homegrown festival with local and regional comics in supporting roles at each show. It is being produced by the Comedy Grotto at Flat Burger Society, a monthly professional comedy production, in cooperation with Dottie's.

Flat Burger Society is located on McKay Street and Dottie's is located at the corner of North Street and Maplewood Avenue.

LENOX, Mass. — WAM Theatre is offering a workshop on the Black Theatre Aesthetic in connection with our production of Cadillac Crew.

The two 90-minute online sessions happening on Oct, 9 and Oct. 30 and will be led by Tatiana Godfrey, Co-Artistic Director of Impro Theater Company in Los Angeles and Literary Manager at the Cincinnati Playhouse. Community members are invited to join Tatiana to deepen their understanding of the Black theatre aesthetic and the importance of its representation.

"Both seeing Cadillac Crew and taking this workshop is doing work to highlight and uplift Black voices," said Teaching Artist Tatianna Godfrey (former WAM Theatre Dramaturg).

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A dozen art shows and exhibits will be on display during the First Fridays Artswalk on Friday, Oct. 7 from 5 to 8 , with most art on open for viewing all month long.

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Avenue, and the Berkshire Art Association will present RE*Fresh, a Juried Biennial Show, for the month of Oct.. The exhibit will be on view Oct. 7 through Nov. 26, and there will be an opening reception for the public during the First Fridays Artswalk on Oct. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m.
