@theMarket: Banks Hammer the MarketsBy Bill Schmick, 04:05PM / Friday, March 10, 2023 | | Stocks fell this week as investors turned more bearish. You can blame Fed Chairman Jerome Powell for that as well as troubles in the banking sector. "Higher for Longer" may be finally sinking in. Powell's two-day testimony in front of the House and the Senate this week was decidedly hawkish. In retrospect, there was nothing new in his statements, but for some reason the financial markets were willing to listen. Congress heard his message as well: inflation is still a problem, the jobs market needs to weaken, and if higher interest rates mean a recession, then so be it. Those who had been confident that the Fed would raise the Fed funds rate by only 25 basis 0 Comments Read More >> |

"We then reposted the RFQ and received one proposal." In January, a small group of school and city representatives reviewed the proposal and decided that the requirements were met. The group then asked the firm clarifying questions about its take on

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Voters shot down a proposed $5.9 million public safety complex 139-214 on Thursday. They did approve nine other articles on the warrant, including accepting $150,000 from the Baker Hill Road District to purchase the land where the police and ambulance station would have been located. Police Station Steering Committee Chair Kristen Tool said the land is contingent on the public safety complex being sited there. If the purchase goes through, the town can't do anything else with the land, the former Skyline Country Club's driving range. The committee spent a year working on the plans presented to the town. But owner Steven Sears said he had been unaware that permits from different boards were required to operate, referring to a food establishment permit he had been unaware of. The U.S. accounts for 30 percent of global sales and hit almost $2 billion in 2022. I divide the pet clothing market into two segments: clothes that are practical, and clothes that are indulgent. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — March is hungry bear season, says the state Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Wildlife officials are reminding the public that bears are beginning to emerge from their winter dens and seek out food. Residents in northern Middlesex County, Worcester County and Western Massachusetts, or other areas where bears have been spotted, should know it's time to take down bird feeders. Natural foods such as acorns and other nuts are usually available on the ground, but last year's fall hard mast crop was meager. Bears will often ignore seasonally available natural foods including skunk cabbage in favor of an easy meal 7 Comments Read More >> |
