BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing the public comment period for the proposed Fiscal Year 2025-2029 five-year Capital Investment Plan (CIP) will be held from Thursday, June 20, through Wednesday, July 10, 2024. This five-year plan includes approximately $16.5 billion in planned transportation investments. The CIP guides how the Healey-Driscoll administration prioritizes and funds local and statewide transportation projects and determines funding for infrastructure, including railroad and transit projects, accessibility upgrades, roadway and bridge improvements, municipal projects, and investments for Regional Transit Authorities (RTAs).

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The school district found a $200,000 cost savings in computer replacements to accommodate the City Council's budget cut. The School Committee approved an $82,685,277 revised school budget on Wednesday with savings that are "essentially a placeholder." Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance Kristen Behnke explained that the amount allotted for hiring may exceed salary totals and could go toward the reduction. Two Arrested in Connection With Lee Home Invasion10:48AM / Friday, June 28, 2024 | | LEE, Mass. — According to a statement released by the District Attorney's Office and the Lee Police Department, two suspects, K'Aunte Carnute, 23 of Pittsfield, and a juvenile, were arrested on June 26 and 27 by the Pittsfield Police Department.
