 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Beatlemania Again, the Beatles stage show will perform at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield on Saturday Nov. 11 at 7:30pm. Beatlemania Again, based on the original Beatlemania Broadway show, presents The Beatles in three separate eras of the group's existence. The show begins with Meet The Beatles, a revue of the world's most famous musical group when they took the planet by storm. Veterans Day falls on Saturday, Nov. 11, and will also be observed Friday, Nov. 10, as a state and federal holiday. The federal holiday is to commemorate the service of the nation's military veterans in ensuring peace.
It was first known as Armistice Day to mark the end of World War I at the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. In recognition of the efforts of World War II veterans, President Eisenhower in 1954 signed legislation creating Veterans Day with the goal of honoring all American veterans. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city's annual city road cut moratorium will be in effect from Nov. 24, 2023 to March 15, 2024. The road cut moratorium is implemented annually, as a precautionary measure, to ensure roads are kept clear of construction work during snow events and to limit the cuts in roads that are filled with temporary patches while material is unavailable. During this period, steel plates are not to be used to cover open excavations in roads. DALTON, Mass. — The Select Board voted last week to change the administrative services of the town's police detail fund to the police chief during its meeting on Monday night. With this management change, the department is authorized to manage the fund based on the specific circumstances surrounding the amount. When the fund is substantially drained, the payment schedule for officers who work details is unpredictable, Police Chief Deanna Strout said during a follow-up conversation. Teddy's Pizza Restaurant on East Street has been purchased by Mike Manning, who is continuing its 50-year legacy as the long-loved pizzeria and family restaurant everyone knows.
"I grew up eating lunch here while at Pittsfield High and that's kind of like a generational thing," he explained. "Everybody comes here, and here we are and we decided to give it a go."

Earl Persip poses with frequent council attendee Ricky Ostellino. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — One incumbent was ousted in the City Council election and there will be multiple new faces on the council come January.
Many councilors-elect are excited about the slate that was voted in on Tuesday night. Unofficial results show a 31.11 percent turnout, compared to the 2019 election's 42.4 percent turnout.
A number of them attended Mayor-elect Peter Marchetti's party at the Berkshire Hills County Club.
Rhonda Serre secured representation of Ward 7 with 674 votes, unseating incumbent Anthony Maffuccio who had 430 votes.

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Voters will elect a mayor, city clerk, City Council, and School Committee tomorrow.
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and there are races in all but three wards — Wards 1, 4 and 5 — and School Committee. There is also one non-binding ballot question asking if there should be a residency requirement for the police chief, fire chief, and public services manager.
Peter Marchetti, the current City Council president, and John Krol, a former councilor, are running to replace Mayor Linda Tyer in the corner office.
Krol has worked in communications, including for former Mayor James Ruberto, and has owned a media business for a decade. He has

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — After some advocacy from local and federal entities, Pittsfield Community Television has added closed captioning for cable viewers.
The organization implemented closed captioning for certain programs about a year ago but came to a roadblock when the captioning was coming through on streaming but not through cable boxes. It was restored after a complaint reached the hands of the Federal Communications Commission.
Members of the Cable Advisory Committee agreed that this is a "great thing" as it provides better access to people who are hard of hearing and people who prefer to have the sound off.
