WESTFIELD, Mass. – Gavin O’Donnell went 4-for-4 with a triple Thursday to lead the Pittsfield Post 68 Juniors to a 10-0 win over Westfield Post 124 in American Legion Baseball play. Connor Devine went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Jason Codey drove in a pair of runs. Matt Egan earned the win on the mound, striking out three, walking a pair and scattering three hits in four innings on the mound. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Volunteers are needed to help clean up the west branch of the Housatonic River with Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) and Housatonic Valley Association (HVA) at one of their annual river cleanups this Saturday, June 29, from 9 AM to Noon. After the cleanup, volunteers will be provided a free lunch from a local restaurant. Volunteers must RSVP in advance to reserve a free lunch. Participants should meet at Wahconah Park, 105 Wahconah Street, Pittsfield, at 9 AM on June 29. LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Pittsfield officials are disappointed that Lanesborough rejected a proposal for Gold Star family tax exemptions, clarifying that the city proudly adopted this years ago.
City Clerk Michele Benjamin, Assistant City Clerk Heather Brazeau and her husband, Mark Brazeau, (former School Committee member) comprised an open letter to the town's Select Board expressing they were "disheartened" by the annual town meeting vote.

 LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — John Goerlach was presented with his nameplate for the Select Board and thanked for his nearly two decades of service to the town. Monday's Select Board meeting began with a baton passing of sorts as newly elected Deborah Maynard started her term and town officials marked Goerlach's departure.
He served Lanesborough for 18 years; first elected in 2006, he did not seek re-election this year.
"You've been an influence and a mentor to me as I joined the board and I'll never forget that," Chair Michael Murphy said. "I value the friendship we've developed as well as the professional relationship."
