 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The 24th annual Monument Cup 3-on-3 soccer tournament returns on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Monument Mountain Regional High School. The event features boys and girls divisions in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 age groups. Teams of three to four players are guaranteed at least three matches. The top four teams in each division advance to the semifinals, with the championship matches played on the varsity field. Teams are encouraged to wear their own handmade, creative uniforms. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Kickoff Classic is back, and the regional soccer tournament, run by Pittsfield Soccer Club, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 2 & 3 at Berkshire Community College (BCC) and Crosby Elementary School.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Deliberations about artificial turf versus natural grass at Wahconah Park will go on the back burner for now as efforts are focused on the grandstand.
Chair Earl Persip III said the Wahconah Park Restoration Committee got lost in "turf talk" for too long when it was not ready for the conversation.
"I think we let it get a little out of control," he said at Thursday's meeting.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Westside Legends is hosting its second annual Westside Super Soap Box Derby on Saturday, Aug. 19, from noon to 4 p.m. Check in starts at 11 a.m., and the first race at noon features the city’s mayoral candidates at noon. The races will be held at the corner of Columbus and Robbins Avenues. There will be three divisions: young kids, teens, and adults (ages 18 and up).
