PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Chance O’Neill went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and the Great Barrington Millers defeated BBA, 8-1, in the first game of their best-of-three Berkshire Adult Baseball League Championship series on Saturday morning on Pellerin Field at Clapp Park. Brooks Belter and Nick Arre combined to strike out 12 over seven innings, and Great Barrington scored four times in the top of the seventh to break open a close game. The Berkshire County Youth Soccer League is in need of new officials for the 2021 fall season. A new referee course will be offered by Zoom. The cost is $115. The Gremlins did not do enough to make the Berkshire Adult Baseball League playoffs, but they got a big highlight to end their regular season last weekend. Corey Delisle set a league record with five hits in a 13-9 win over the Pirates in the finale for both 35-year-old Division teams. Delisle went 5-for-6 and drove in four runs int he win. Chris Gouty and Graham Moriarty each had three hits for the Gremlins, who got 5-2/3 innings and the win on the mound from Josh Froebel. PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The 16th annual Skills Improvement basketball camp for boys and girls in grades 3 through 12 will be held Aug. 16-19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Boys and Girls Club. The camp is designed to target basketball fundamentals, with an emphasis on instruction in shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defensive skills.
