Kane-Smalls Leads Mount Greylock to OT Win in Title Game

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Noah Kane-Smalls hit the game-winning shot in overtime Sunday to lead Mount Greylock to a 65-64 win over Hoosac Valley in the Northern Berkshire Sports Academy fall high school basketball league.   Kane-Smalls finished with a double-double, scoring 25 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.   Desmond Cobb also had a double-double for the Mounties with 24 points and 13 boards.   Ward Bianchi scored 11 points, and Nolan Barnes grabbed 15 rebounds in the win.   Hoosac Valley was led by Trevor Moynihan with 23 points, including five 3-pointers.   Joey McGovern also hit five 3s and scored 16 to go with 15 rebounds for the Hurricanes.   Hayden

Harrington Earns League Honor at Stonehill College

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City of Pittsfield's Department of Community Development Recreation Program announces a Fall Foliage Community Bike Ride on Saturday, Oct. 14 on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.   Participants are asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m. at the Crane Avenue parking lot. McCann Tech Students Plan Charity Run for Maui Fire Relief

CHESHIRE, Mass. — The McCann Tech cross country team on Sept. 16 will host a 5-kilometer trail run and 1 mile walk to benefit victims of August's fire in Hawaii.   The Walk/Run for Maui fund-raiser will take place at Whitney's Farm on Ingalls Road (follow the dirt road past the U-Pick blueberries).   Check in on Saturday, Sept. 16, will be at 7:30 a.m. The 5K trail run begins at 8:30, and the stroller-friendly 1 mile walk begins at 9:30.   The cost to register is $20 in advance or $25 the day of registration.
