PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Former player and Pittsfield native Kevin Donati will take over as head coach of the Pittsfield Suns and the team promised a great 10th season.

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity, being with the Suns for three summers was a great time, I'm looking to build on that," he said when introduced last week. "What I'm looking forward to the most is the friendships that you build, the relationships that you build, and the memories that you get from this opportunity."

Donati is also the owner of Rip City Academy on Hubbard Avenue, which focuses on guiding athletes to improve their game.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Williamstown's Stephanie Boyd placed 20th in her age group on Monday in the 126th running of the Boston Marathon.   Boyd covered the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 37 minutes, 40 seconds, maintaining a pace of 8:18 per mile to finished 20th in the women's 60-64 division.   The women's 60-64 age group had 450 finishers.   A pair of runners from Kenya won the event, which celebrated its return to the Patriots Day holiday for the first time since 2019.   Evans Chebet took the men's title in a time of 2:06:51. NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Pittsfield's Madison Lodowski Monday signed a celebratory letter to attend Elmira College, where she plans to play softball for the Division III Soaring Eagles.   Lodowski, a senior at the Darrow School, plans to major in pre-medicine in the college's joint medical program with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.   Lodowski played travel softball with the Berkshire Force and the Pittsfield Stars.
