Pittsfield Little League 11-Year-Olds Eliminated by Holden

HOLDEN, Mass. – Samuel Davidson struck out nine in 4 and two-thirds innings Sunday to lead the Holden Little League 11-year-old All-Stars to a 7-5 win over Pittsfield and a Section 1 Championship.   Davidson gave up three earned runs and helped his cause with a double and an RBI.   Wesley Goodale doubled and drove in three runs for Holden.   Pittsfield, which fought its way through the loser’s bracket to reach the tournament’s title round, fought back from a 6-1 deficit on Sunday.   Holden took that lead with a six-run fourth inning.   But Pittsfield got within a pair of runs with a three-run fifth.   Myles Morrison-Gould hit a bases-clearing

Taconic's Walker Receives Scholarship from Basketball Program

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Reign youth basketball program recently gave 2025 Taconic High School graduate Jaelynn Walker a $1,000 scholarship.   Walker, who was a key contributor on the Reign's travel basketball team in the spring, plans to attend and play college basketball at Division III Mount Saint Mary in Newburgh, N.Y.   The Knights last winter won the program's 15th Skyline Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Westfield 10-Year-Old Little Leaguers Knock Out Pittsfield

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Thomas Sullivan hit a line drive to center field in the bottom of the seventh to drive in the winning run and give the Westfield Little League 10-year-old All-Stars an 11-10 win over PIttsfield in the Section 1 Championship Game on Saturday.   Bridger Braun earned the win on the mound for Westfield after holding Pittsfield without a run in the top of the seventh, which started with a “ghost runner” on second base for the visitors.   In the bottom of the frame, Andrew Karetka singled to left field to move Westfield’s ghost runner to third base for Sullivan, who ended the game by connecting on a 1-0 pitch.   Colton Rowe went 4-for-4

Both Pittsfield Little League teams in action in sectional play on Saturday won to stay alive in their respective age groups.   The 11-year-old All-Stars earned a 14-0 win at Westfield behind Hector Reyes-Colon’s complete-game effort on the mound.   The Pittsfield 11s came out of the loser’s bracket to earn a date against Holden on Sunday in the finals.   A win by Holden, and it takes the Section 1 title in the double-elimination tournament. ENFIELD, Conn. – The Berkshire Force 14-and-under travel softball team went 3-0 in three tight games at the Enfield Invitational on Saturday.   The Force edged the host Enfield Extreme Blue, 4-2, before beating the Connecticut Charge 13U squad, 7-2. Berkshire then beat the Senior Noles of Central Massachusetts, 7-5.   Ava McMahon struck out seven in a complete-game effort to beat the Enfield Extreme. SOUTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Pittsfield Little League 11-year-old All-Stars Friday  advanced to the Section 1 Tournament loser’s bracket final with a 7-0 win at Southampton.   The visitors jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Myles Morrison-Gould.
