PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Chance O’Neill went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and the Great Barrington Millers defeated BBA, 8-1, in the first game of their best-of-three Berkshire Adult Baseball League Championship series on Saturday morning on Pellerin Field at Clapp Park.   Brooks Belter and Nick Arre combined to strike out 12 over seven innings, and Great Barrington scored four times in the top of the seventh to break open a close game.   The Millers can clinch the BABL 20-year-old Division title on Sunday at 10 a.m. with a win in Great Barrington. The Berkshire County Youth Soccer League is in need of new officials for the 2021 fall season.   A new referee course will be offered by Zoom. The Gremlins did not do enough to make the Berkshire Adult Baseball League playoffs, but they got a big highlight to end their regular season last weekend.   Corey Delisle set a league record with five hits in a 13-9 win over the Pirates in the finale for both 35-year-old Division teams.   Delisle went 5-for-6 and drove in four runs int he win. Chris Gouty and Graham Moriarty each had three hits for the Gremlins, who got 5-2/3 innings and the win on the mound from Josh Froebel.   Darren Jefferson went 2-for-3, and Jason Ryan drove in three runs for the Pirates.   The Aces wrapped up a perfect regular season and the top spot in the four-team 35-year-old Division playoffs

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The 16th annual Skills Improvement basketball camp for boys and girls in grades 3 through 12 will be held Aug. 16-19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Boys and Girls Club.   The camp is designed to target basketball fundamentals, with an emphasis on instruction in shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defensive skills.   The camp is directed by Bill Heaphy, the coach of the Taconic boys basketball team, which has won three straight Western Massachusetts Division 2 titles and is the reigning co-State Champion.   Registration is $100, and checks should be made payable to the Boys and Girls Club.   To register online, visit bgcberkshires.org.
